Are any American facial plastic surgeons performing closed ultrasonic (piezoelectric) rhinoplasties?

This is a good question.The piezo tips in the States are considered to be single-use only.This means that if you had to use for example 5 tips in one patient you would have to pay 1000$ or more just for the tips. This was not the case in Europe where officially a tip could be used at least in 5 patients. So, I think this was a serious disadvantage for promoting the system in the US.Now, concerning the approach, let me inform you that the system is used in rhinoplasties for about 8 years globally, and during the first 5 years we had to follow an open approach to use it.Fortunately, especially the last 2-3 years, there are some severe changes (on the technique and the produced tips) that gave us the possibility to use the device on closed approach too.I use the piezo system - as opinion leader here in Greece - for the last 4 years and I can reassure you that there are many rhinoplasty surgeons in the States now that are using it.
