I have a prominent nose bridge which makes my nose slightly hooked. The tip of my nose points just a very little downwards. I like my prominent nose though. Is it possible to lift the tip of my nose and reduce its droopiness and hookiness without increasing its projection?
Answer: Male rhinoplasty Hello Cheerful550603, Thanks for your question. From the limited side view you could benefit from rasping your hump using micromotor devices and eliminating your droopy tip with a Closed Technique without a scar on the columella. A picture from the front could also determine other maneuvers which are required in your case, as the nose is a 3 dimensional structure. Answer: What you need to know about rhinoplasty Thank you for providing a photo along with your great question. It sounds like you want to make minor adjustments to your nasal tip without dramatically altering the appearance of your nose. Yes, a skilled, board-certified facial plastic surgeon can lift the tip of your nose without increasing your nasal projection. You may want to consider a tip lift to decrease the “hook” or “droop” of your nose. An experienced rhinoplasty specialist can also reshape the bones in your nasal bridge to minimize your dorsal hump while maintaining its prominence. Talk to a board-certified facial plastic surgeon to determine which type of rhinoplasty will help you achieve your desired outcome.

Answer: Rhinoplasty: without increasing the nose projection... You could consider rhinoplasty for a tip lift, and for bridge lowering for a less distracting nasal appearance that is still masculine. Consult with several reputable rhinoplasty spewcialists so you could see what to expect. Thank you. Dr Joseph

Answer: Tip rotation without increased projection it is possible to rotate the tip upward without increasing its projection. In the photo your tip does not appear to be excessively down turned for a male . I presume when you smile the tip turns down somewhat more. In noses with extremely downturns tips that almost sit on the upper lip , upward rotation combined with an increase in projection is the goal . However in a nose with minimal downward deflection requiring minimal upward rotation this can be achieved without increasing the projection of the tip.

Answer: Rhinoplasty It sounds like you may have been led to believe you need a tip graft but you don’t. If the tip is raised AND the bridge is lowered sufficiently you will get a proper readily. Sounds simple but some surgeons do not lower the bridge enough and compensate with trying to increase the tip projection will cartilage grafts. Also your tip needs to be raised a fair amount. It’s simple to do and I believe easier with a closed rhinoplasty.
