Got my rhinoplasty 6 months ago, still hurts to wear my glasses for longer than 30 mins. I've been trying to ease into it but it's very painful and gives me a headache. My glasses are very light so that's not the issue.

You’ve posed a great question. I can’t think of a reason why it would still hurt to wear glasses 6 months after rhinoplasty. It’s possible that you had sensitivity on the bridge of your nose prior to the procedure and are simply hyper aware of the discomfort now. You may want to consider altering the bridge portion of your glasses or switch to softer nose pads. As for the headaches, they may be unrelated. I would recommend scheduling a consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon as well as your general practitioner to uncover the source of these headaches.

Tenderness and discomfort timelines range from patient to patient depending on the complexity of the procedure and the amount of swelling experienced post surgery. Thank you for the question. I have never seen pain and sensitivity 6 months after a rhinoplasty. It is possible that extensive bone work was done and the bones did not heal properly. I would suggest discussing this with your plastic surgeon.

Pain from wearing glasses: I don’t think the glasses should cause headaches. There could be some tenderness of the bridge if the glasses are digging into the bridge of the nose. Perhaps you could try glasses that have the little round struts that sit on each side of the bridge and avoid digging into the top of the bridge.
