I had liposuction on my abdomen and it looked great. I did a second surgery because I was trying to do a fat graft to my rear. I used a great certified plastic surgeon. As you see my second surgery was overdone in some areas. Then the doctor attempted to use Kenalog steroid shot to smooth out the two bumps however it made indentations above the bumps. How hard will it be if at all possible to usefat grafting and maybe a little Lipo on the bumps to look normal again? It has been 7 months.
Answer: Irregularities after liposuction these should be treated with noninvasive body contouring treatments such as velashape or venus legacy to help improve the irregularities. I suggest speaking to a cosmetic dermatologist who specializes in body shaping to see what can be done to improve the appearance of these areas. I have all my post liposuction patients use these treatments to give better long term outcomes. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Fixing contour irregularities Contour irregularities arising from either liposuction or Kenalog injections can be fixed through a combination of minor additional liposuction to take down any bumps and fat injections to fill in depressions. It will be important for you to be examined to determine the quality of your skin in these areas, how much scar tissue is present, how much available fat you have, etc but from these photos you appear to be a good candidate.i wish you the best of luck in having this treated successfully!

Answer: Steroid-induced atrophy First of all, it is important to differentiate if your areas of fat loss are due to the second procedure or steroid injections.Steroid-induced fat atrophy can, at times, resolve, while other times the loss of volume is permanent.Changes after steroid injections take time, many months. At seven months, there may still be some changes from the steroid injections, so my best guess is there will not.Uneven contours after liposuction can be treated in one of three ways or using a combination. One is to liposuction the area for fullness around the indentation. In your case, this may not be a good option because of the overall thin layers of subcutaneous fat.Another option is fat grafting the areas of fat loss (see below). At times, doing skin removal surgery can help. You do not have enough skin laxity to warrant an abdominoplasty. In your case, all of these will be difficult and may not be appropriate.Fat transfer is most likely going to be the one with the least risk of causing further problems, though it is usually of limited use.In order for fat transfer to work, there has to be a base or foundation in which to graft the fat. When an area has been over-liposuctioned, there is often not enough tissue in which to successfully graft the fat. This causes a high percentage of fat reabsorption.I suggest you consult with one or more experienced, board-certified plastic surgeons who specialize in liposuction and fat transfer.Excessive liposuction or unevenly done liposuction is, unfortunately, one of the most difficult outcomes to correct in plastic surgery.Be leery of anyone who promises to be able to completely restore your figure.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
