Dental implants causing tongue pain

Hi! I just recently had my new dental implants placed in my lower right area and a week after my tongue started to hurt like it is irritated...and it’s on the same side as my new implants. Can the implants cause my tongue pain?

Many times tongue tenderness can occur when the healing caps that cover the openings of the implants extend through the gum tissue causing discomfort. Once the crowns are placed on the dental implants, this should subside. However, if the crowns are already on the dental implants, I would suggest seeing your provider to follow up and asses the thickness of the crowns.
