I have the history of dentistry in my mouth, so it wasn't a surprise when I needed implants. My dentist referred me to Dr. Kramer at Sandy Springs Periodontics. Apparently, she was named top periodontist by Atlanta Dental Magazine for several years running. The office staff was sincerely friendly without being fake or weird and were extremely accommodating with my travel schedule. Dr. Kramer was compassionate and professional and my implants are PERFECT! I couldn't be happier with the whole experience.
Dr. Kramer is the absolute best in the Atlanta area! She was so helpful and caring from the first conversation to the procedure! She made sure to answer all the questions i had and also made sure to make me feel at ease. Dr. Kramer and her staff cared about my smile just as much as i do and that made me feel like i really was in great hands. I feel so much better about not only my smile but my health. Thank you so much Dr. Kramer and West Cobb Periodontics!!!
Dr. Kramer is an amazing care provider—super friendly and professional. She whitened my teeth, and my smile looks great now! I was very comfortable the whole time thanks to Dr. Kramer and her staff. I would definitely come back to her office for any other cosmetic dentistry treatments I need.
I had a visit today to be fitted for a night guard, and was blown away by the experience! Friendly staff, clean facilities, diligent COVID-19 protocols, thorough work, smooth tunes. Sitting in a heated massage chair and watching Jeopardy re-runs on Netflix while being attended to was an added bonus! A+, would visit again! Thanks Dr. Kramer!
As many are, I was a little afraid about going in for a dental procedure. But Dr. Kramer is so thorough, professional, and knowledgeable, that my fears were allayed. She played my favorite music and explained everything that we were going to do beforehand. I still have some more work to get that perfect smile, but I actually look forward to seeing her!
So after putting it off for years my teeth started to shift and I knew it was time for me to fix my missing teeth in the back. I was pretty nervous before the surgery but I took a Valium and that helped. I was expecting to be out for awhile but it was pretty easy. Just took Motrin and I was fine! Thank you!
It is not uncommon to have some congestion after implant surgery close to your sinus. Even if the implant is protruding slightly into the sinus, the studies show it can be tolerated well without issues over time. If the symptoms persist, I would speak with your surgeon about getting a CBCT or an ENT consultation.
It is difficult to give you any more direction without an exam, photos or xrays. To answer your question, horizontal bone augmentation is predictable in my office- vertical augmentation is more difficult. As a general rule, though, periodontal (bone and gum) issues should be addressed prior to your braces.
It is difficult to tell from your photos without xrays or a clinical exam, but it appears the cause of your gummy smile is skeletal- meaning it has to do with the development of your jaw. Gum contouring on your right side can help the esthetics, but it will not fully fix the problem. Speak with your periodontist about options.
If is difficult to tell without xrays and a clinical exam, but typically if you have extensive bone loss, it will be difficult to regain the lost gum tissue. If you have extensive bone loss, you may be in the case that the infection under your gum needs to be addressed to prevent the loss of your teeth. As my mentor used to say, sometimes its "a long tooth or no tooth."
Yes, I think you would benefit from a gum lift. I would see a periodontal specialist who can determine if you need either A. Gum and bone contouring or B. Gum contouring only. If only gum contouring is done and bone shaping is required as well, your gums will rebound to their original position. Wait until after your gum lift to determine if you need more procedures. Many of my patients are so happy with the esthetics, they determine they do not need veneers.
