My teeth have been weak all my life which made me very self conscious about my appearance. I finally made the commitment to get my teeth fixed. I got several implants and crowns on my upper teeth. Although it was a financial stretch, it was well worth the investment. I couldn't be happier with my new smile :-)
Both the staff as well as Dr. Champagne are wonderful, I was a very apprehensive patient that needed to have bridge work redone after 10 years and I couldn't have found anyone better to do it. My experience there was great. They took so much time to make sure I was completely happy with the results. I would highly recommend them and the office is very homey.
I have these top front smile teeth that never grew in and I've been wearing a Maryland bridge since I was a kid. I was always too afraid to get dental implants. I finally decided to set up a consultation and was immediately comfortable in Dr. Champagne's office. The doctor, the staff, and the office are amazing! The procedure was absolutely painless and I love love love my dental implants and wish that I had done it sooner. I cannot recommend this office enough!
I was devastated when I was told that I would be losing my upper teeth at 48 years old. I set up a consult with Dr Champagne about a year ago, he immediately put my mind at ease. I had to take out a loan to get the work done, but I can honestly say that my new smile is worth every penny. My smile is better than it ever was, my mouth is healthier, and my upper teeth will never get another cavity :-) I give my heartfelt thanks to Dr Champagne and his amazing staff. Throughout the entire process, they were comforting and always treated me with dignity. In fact, they really treated me like family! Thank you!!
I had a huge gap in my teeth, a giant chip in my front tooth, and my "dream job" starting in just a couple of weeks. After researching dozens of dentists in New Jersey, I kept coming back to Dr. Champagne and Champagne Smiles. Customer Service: I can not express enough how impressed I was with the scheduling process of Champagne Smiles. I needed the fix within two weeks and I was going to be out-of-town for half of that time. The office was booked with patients and Memorial Day weekend was coming up fast. The incredibly friendly person on the other end of the line tried to find any date that would work with my schedule, but it was seemingly impossible. Then, she put me on hold for a brief second. When she came back on the line she told me that although the office was going to be closed/not-seeing-any-patients the Friday before Memorial Day weekend, Dr. Champagne would come in and the office would be staffed if I was willing to come in that day. Let me stress that they made an unavailable day "available" just so I could have a new smile for my first day at my big job. The Facilities: Champagne Smiles' offices are beautiful. I felt like I was walking into an open house. The offices were clearly new, inviting, and almost "homey." I was offered beverages while I waited for just 5 minutes before being brought back for x-rays. The examination rooms were state-of-the-art, clean, and not your ordinary "scary" dentist office experience. During the procedure, I was offered headphones to listen to music or a television screen to watch some programming in order to keep my mind occupied during the procedure. The Staff: There are not enough superlatives in the dictionary to describe how professional, flexible, and kind the staff was. From the moment I walked in until the moment I left I was greeted with smiles. We laughed, joked, and talked about everything under the sun. They were so great, they would make a root canal seem almost like an enjoyable interaction. They got me in and out with ease, little wait, and with lots of levity. The Procedure: Dr. Champagne did not go five minutes without checking on how I was feeling. I was never under any real discomfort, and he constantly talked me through what was happening. Dr. Champagne's demeanor is the perfect mix of professional with a touch of personal; it lets you know he cares about you as a patient. Even though I was the only thing holding him up from his Memorial Day weekend, he did not rush for a second through the procedure. He took his time and extra care to make sure things were done absolutely perfectly. The Big Reveal: When he handed me a mirror I almost let an expletive slip I was so impressed. It didn't even look like me. I do not know who had the larger smile, myself or Dr. Champagne. His exact words to me were: "That's the reaction I always hope for." It was obvious he takes great pride in his craft, his patients, and the profession. The next day, during his holiday weekend, my cell phone rang. It was Dr. Champagne asking me about how they felt, looked, and if the bite was causing me any problems. While I had him on the phone, I had to relay the story of how my significant other's father saw them, and he was beyond belief that they were not my real teeth! Already I've received compliments from those who knew me before the procedure. Those who didn't will meet me and never even be able to tell I had work done! The Financing: I am still a full-time student accumulating and paying off student loans. The office was very understanding and through the simplest process over the phone, in less than 10 minutes I was approved for the procedure with 1-year financing interest free! No hassle and a great relief.
If the implant is placed well and maintained properly, it should do the exact opposite. It should actually help to maintain the jaw bone and prevent the jaw from resorbing and therefore getting smaller. I hope you got this information to be helpful, Dr. Champagne
Bone grafting at the time of extraction is considered the standard of care and should definitely be done. As far as being able to place the dental implant at that same visit, it would depend on many factors and will probably be determined during that visit by your implant dentist. You should not proceed with final restorations until your provisional restorations satisfy your comfort, function, health, and aesthetics. Does it have to necessarily be a prosthodontist? Absolutely not. You need to find a dentist that has special training in helping patients that have temporomandibular disorder, otherwise known as TMD or TMJ. Judging from the photograph that you included, that area should be looked at immediately. That is not the appearance of a dental implant that is healing properly. I hope you found this information to be helpful, Dr. Champagne
Typically the answer is no because that is not their intended purpose and their shape is not designed to hold a crown very well. If you desire to get temporary teeth on the implants prior to final restorations, then you can talk to your dentist about getting temporary crowns placed on temporary/final abutments.
