Hello,Thank you for your question. This depends on how soon after surgery you are asking the question. It is common for each side to feel a bit different and sometimes one side is more sore than the other. As well, If one breast was slightly bigger to begin with, it will hold the implant more tightly and take a little longer to soften up.If you have ongoing tightness or pain visit with your Plastic Surgeon for assessment. All the best
Hello,Handedness and implants have nothing to do with each other. Your left implant is tight because of the scar tissue that formed around it is tighter than the other side. Ask your doctor if he thinks you have mild contracture.Best of luck!
Hello, your posted question does not mention when your surgery was performed. Initially it is not uncommon for one side to feel tighter than the other. If this is a longstanding problem, your surgeon will be able to do a proper exam and help determine the cause of your symptoms.
Sure but also remember that no two breasts ever look the same and no two breasts ever heal at the same rate. It's normal for one to feel tighter than the other. Just give yourself adequate time to heal (I tell my patients it takes a good 4-6 months to see your final shape to allow all the swelling to resolve and to let the implants drop and settle some). Best of luck for great results!!!
While use of the right pectoralis muscle in a right handed person after augmentation can lead to tightness and discomfort on the right side, such discomfort on the left is just as likely due to slight differences in swelling, capsule formation, or contracture, depending on how long ago your surgery was performed. Please address your concerns with your operating surgeon.
Thank you for the question. From my experience, it is not uncommon to feel one side tighter than the other. It usually even out after a week or two. I have not been able to associate with right- or left- hand dominance reliably.
Early on, both sides usually feel tight. Sometimes the dominant side may take longer to drop and settle. However, you have two different breasts and they may not settle at the same time. If you have any concerns, please discuss them with your surgeon.
Problems associated with breast augs include a)tightness-capsular contracture b)malposition-one implant higher than the other;Tightness is not side related and can happen to either breast: possible causes include contamination with powder, talc on gloves, any small amount of blood, implant leakage, subclinical bacterial colonization; this side effect is not related to handedness.Malposition is caused when typically one implant gets positioned higher; this can be caused by surgical error (asymmetric pocket dissection) or following continuous pulling on one implant than the other; usually it is your dominant hand which you use more often; pulling on this side with your biceps results in more use of the pec which encourages the implant to go higher. Please see examples of breast augmentation revision below
Thank you for the question and your breasts are "sisters" not "twins" so will react differently to surgery. So it is not unusual to experience more discomfort on one side then the other.Dr. Corbin
In my In my experience occasionally patients do demonstrate earlier dropping of the breast implant on the dominant hand side. This is especially true when the implants are placed under the muscle. There are also other factors which can result in asymmetrical softening of the implant. A differential in breast size often results in the smaller breast side dropping slower. Please express your concerns to your surgeon.
Thank you for your question. There is not a big difference in +/-50cc.However, I would not recommend over the muscle placement. Over the muscle placement offers no support to the implants which leads to unstable results in the long run. Please know that the larger the implant - the more unstable...
Hello,Thank you for your question. I would suggest that for the most part, the anatomy/spacing you begin with is what you will end with via a standard BA. The space between your nipples will not change and your implants must be centered under them in order to look natural and ideal. Your Plastic...
Hello,Thank you for your question. As others have suggested, 700cc could be an unrealistic jump in size, however the implant s which will fit depend very much on your current measurements and anatomy. The best way to find out what implant sizes and shapes are best for you is to book your...
Thank you for your question. The two #breasts commonly heal quite differently. One breast may #swell more, feel more uncomfortable, or have a different initial #shape. After complete #healing, they will be more similar and natural. This initial healing usually takes 2-3 months, but may take up to...
Hello,As others have mentioned, it is probably unlikely that you can get coverage for breast augmentation related to your asymmetry. I would recommend that you check with your primary care physician though- see if they know of a way to help you and meet with a board certified Plastic Surgeon for...
Hello, I would suggest discussing management of the lump in your armpit with your family doctor. They may refer you to a local general or plastic surgeon to determine if it is advisable to remove the lump.
