Plastic surgeons have different views on doing mid face Liposuction. Cannula will not selectively remove grafted fat and grafting deep to subcutaneous fat layer is probably inappropriate. There are a lot of structures to take into consideration like the product plant and facial nerve. I continue to steer people away from facial fat transfer because the procedure is somewhat unpredictable and imprecise. Once grafted the fad can be difficult to remove. It varies from case to case and surgeon to surgeon. Carefully done Liposuction with a conservative size cannula is probably your best option know sometimes there may be other ways of addressing the issue. I suggest you follow up with the provider who did the procedure for you. He or she is ultimately responsible for the outcome of the procedure. If you’ve lost faith then you can always have second opinion consultations. Taken care of other providers unhappy patients isn’t on top of most plastic surgeons lists of favorable cases. That said, every plastic surgeon has had and will continue to have disgruntled patients seeking opinions from others whether justified or not. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
