Great question, unfortunately fat does not weigh that much. People lose weight from diet and exercise Liposuction can contour the body but does not actually cause weight loss. That being said most people love the results and really take their bodies took the next level!

Let's do some basic math.1 liter divided by .974 liters per kilo =1.022 kg.1.022 kg divided by .454 Kg per lbs = 2.25 lbs.Unless completely separated, the liquid removed is always part water-based fluid and part fat. you will reduce fat and you will look better after smartlipo, but you are not removing enough fat to have much of an effect on your weight. you cannot expect ANY type of liposuction to lose weight for you. you must follow better eating habits (see my web site for ketone supplements and dieting ideas) and more exercise. see a board certified plastic surgeon. I will do somewhat overweight people, after i examine them to make sure that they have external fat but I explain that this is a partnership and they must work hard on dieting, if they want good results. do not expect that you can eat whatever you want and that any type of liposuction or surgery, will correct this for you. as dr Pelosi says below about half a liter (480 cc or ml) is one pound of weight (a liter weights one kilogram which is 2.2 lbs approximately).david berman md
