My goal is to achieve a fuller longer face. Would the VLC implant (vertical lengthening chin implant) be the ideal implant?

The vertical lengthening chin implant provides a 45 degree dimensional augmentation which is equal amounts of vertical and horizontal lengthening. In the largest size that is 7mms in both directions for a composite 15mms of chin expansion. Whether that is adequate for you remains to be determined bit that is about as much as most soft tissue chin pads can be primarily expanded. But it is also important to consider the shape of the chin augmentation as well which is what will make the difference between using a standard VLC vs custom chin implant design. 

A lot of the determination of which direction the implant gives volume is based on how it’s placed.I’ve never seen a chin implant even coming close to the measurements you’ve mentioned. There’s no way a 2 inch implant is going to fit under anyone’s chin or look normal even with drastic measures like tissue expansion.Without a picture we can’t make an assessment. Perhaps it’s time to talk to some plastic surgeons in person and let them give you some direction of what may be appropriate.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
