I had a capsulectomy and breast explant today. They did not put an ace bandage or anything around me. Is this OK?

Good day! Surgeons have different protocols for post op for each patient and for each procedure. Some doctors would suggest you to wear a sports bra instead, but some would prefer you use a compression garment for a longer period of time. It is still best to ask your doctor about detailed information on your aftercare and strictly follow post op instructions for best results. Every surgeon has his/her own protocol.  What your surgeon did should be fine.  Support for the surgical area is provided and the drains will help with fluid accumulation.  I encourage you to discuss any concerns you have with your surgeon.

It is beneficial to have some gentle compression like a wide ace wrap, chest binder, surgical bra, etc to support breasts and minimize swelling.   If a garment is too tight it can damage skin.  I personally feel a good support garment lessens pain following surgery.  Give your surgeon a call!
