I have had a deviated septum from an accident since I was 16 and a small bump on one side as well. I have always wanted to get those fixed. Then, over this last weekend (I'm 27 now) I broke my nose. I finally got to see an ENT today and he kind of talked me out of resetting my nose and suggested he fix my septum in a couple months instead. However, I'm anxious, everything I read is telling me I should get it reset ASAP. Should I get it reset or should I wait it out???

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. You could do this either way. There is value in waiting for the swelling to fully resolve and do it as one definitive surgery in a delayed fashion. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Answer: Broke my nose, the second time Thank you for posting a photograph. It is certainly possible to perform a septoplasty, reset your nasal bones straight, and a cosmetic rhinoplasty all at the same time under one anesthesia with one recovery.. There's no sense in having two different nasal surgeries. Cosmetic rhinoplasty for the crooked nose is one of the most difficult procedures to perform correctly in the entire field of cosmetic surgery, so choose your rhinoplasty specialist very wisely based on extensive experience. Look for a double board-certified ENT/facial plastic surgeon for best results. Study their rhinoplasty photo gallery.
