Question about fat removal options before pregnancy?

Question

I'm in my late 30s, planning a pregnancy in 4-6 months. I’m 5’4” 114 lbs and generally happy with my body, but bothered by "bra rolls" and a lower belly pooch. I've considered liposuction but am wary of the recovery time given pregnancy goals. I’ve tried CoolSculpting 2 yrs ago but results were minimal. Seeking an effective, shorter-recovery procedure and open to travel outside San Francisco. Not aiming to look like a fitness model, just a smooth midsection with no bra roll.

Undergoing liposuction or any body contouring procedure is best saved for after pregnancy and/or planned pregnancies. This is because you will gain weight and your abdominal skin will stretch as a result of the pregnancy. If you have surgery before your pregnancy, you will in effect compromise your overall results. 
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive modality to improve body contour, however it is not nearly as effective as liposuction and other minimally invasive surgeries. Hope this helps!

It is  so  easy to  undergo and has a quick recovery with patients back to  work in just 2 days and back to the gym in  1 week. Liposuction with the micro canulas under local can really make  a huge improvement in most patients.  Coolsculpting has been such a huge disappointment and often makes things worse.

Thank you for your question. It is difficult to offer advice without photos; however, the best advice is to wait until after you are done with pregnancy before attempting any body contouring. Your body will undergo huge changes during the pregnancy and in the post-natal period! It is possible that you find yourself with new aesthetic issues / goals after the pregnancy. You will be best off getting through the pregnancy safely and then addressing any aesthetic issues.

A good set of photographs would have been extremely helpful. Having liposuction done in a proper way will not interfere with you getting pregnant. In the majority of our patients all the swelling is gone anywhere between three and six months at the most.
