Hi I got my breast implant 6 years ago do I still need to take Amoxicillin before the dentist for the rest of my life thank you
Answer: Always best to check with your surgeon's protocol. I advise my patients one year is adequate. Not all surgeon's use this protocol. I believe it's useful. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author. RealSelf Distinguished Hall of Fame Inductee. Philadelphia, Pa., USA

Answer: Amoxicillin According to current medical consensus, most experts agree that you do not need to take amoxicillin before a dental appointment even 6 years after getting breast implants as there is limited scientific evidence supporting the need for antibiotic prophylaxis in this situation; however, it's always best to consult with your dentist and plastic surgeon to discuss your specific case and medical history. Key points to consider: Lack of strong evidence: Studies have not shown a clear link between routine dental procedures and breast implant infections, making the need for preventative antibiotics questionable. Potential risks of antibiotics: Taking unnecessary antibiotics can contribute to antibiotic resistance. Consult with your healthcare providers: Always discuss your medical history with both your dentist and plastic surgeon to determine the best course of action

Answer: Breasts implants and Antibiotics before dentist Hi lxchannel33,It depends on the dental treatment - if it is for a dental abscess or perhaps a root canal treatment then it is advisable to take antibiotics beforehand. It is not necessary if it is a routine visit, or if you're having a tooth filled.Hope this is helpful.
