It is possible to shave bone on the jaw to improve symmetry. A FaceTime consultation would be necessary to give more details.

I would consider starting with Buccal fat removal with jawline lipo. Buccal fat removal reduces some of the fullness in your cheeks and the lipo would add more contour and definition to your jawline. These procedures are commonly done together and are done entirely through the mouth. This means no external incisions (no scarring). Depending on your actual jaw anatomy, jawline contouring could be an option. This would reduce the width of the jaw by contouring down the bone. Occasionally, some of the masseter muscle will be removed as well. Our office provides in-office or virtual consultations if you would like to discuss options further!

It looks like there may be a bony asymmetry. Sometimes this requires full jaw surgery and sometimes it may be fixed with just a chin surgery or genioplasty. A full evaluation of you entire jaw and facial skeleton will allow me to make a diagnosis and treatment plan. It's important to see the whole jaw because the posterior lower jaw or the jaw joint could also be causing the asymmetry. Camouflage with fat or filler is also possible if there are no other issues with the jaw.
