What are these bumps on the right and left side of my nose? (photos)

Hi! I was looking to see what these bumps on my nose are. The bump on my right side has been on my nose for over three years now. And the other one is starting to grow. I’ve already seen a dermatologist, who said that this was cartilage & there was nothing that I could do other than getting a nose job. I’d prefer to see an ENT doctor, & will be looking into one soon. The bumps stopped growing, but cause discomfort and they appeared out of nowhere, overnight it seemed to me.

We all have lower lateral tip cartilages that form our nasal tip. As we get older, the configuration of people's tip cartilage can become more visible, especially with thin white skin. I suspect your ENT may say the same. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph

Hi, they are the indentation of the cartilages, namely lateral crura, supporting your ala. If they are not there your nasal ala would collapse. They are normal anatomic structures. If they are bothering you, yes a nose job should be done to give a better shape to your tip and ala.
