I am 25, 5’3’, 115 pounds, and Vietnamese for background. I’ve had round cheeks but since high school it seems as though my cheeks have gotten worse. I recently got masseter botox that helped slim my face a little but I’m still unhappy with the way my face looks when I smile. My father has very round cheeks and my mothers have thinned out. Based on my photos, would I be a safe candidate?
Answer: Are you a candidate for buccal fat removal? What to consider first Hello, and thank you for providing photos along with your question. Ideal candidates for buccal fat removal are those with a larger face with extended roundness in the mid-to-lower face but with significant bone structure. Based on your photos, you appear to be a good candidate for the procedure. Partial removal of fat pads can help create cheek definition and a slimmer contour in the lower face. The best way to determine your eligibility for the procedure is to schedule an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon. Such experts will have the optimal skills, knowledge of the most advanced surgical techniques, as well as artistry and knowledge of facial aesthetics, harmony, and proportion, helping you achieve the most natural-looking results. During your consultation, your surgeon can assess your facial profile, recommend the best approach, and ensure the best possible outcome.

Answer: Buccal Fat Reduction Based on the photos you provided, you would be a great candidate for buccal fat reduction. This procedure would reduce the fat by 50-70% in the buccal region which would help you achieve more of a heart shaped face. Nonetheless, I would recommend you to complete multiple in office consultations with board certified facial plastic surgeons to discuss your ideal outcome. This way, they can assess your face in person and determine the best treatment for you. Best of luck! Kian Karimi MD, FACS

Answer: A good candidate for Buccal Fat Removal. Hi, there! It really depends on how much you want to change your feature. A buccal fat excision can be done conservatively with very nice and subtle results! If you want more of a defined chin and jawline, buccal fat excision combined with filler will achieve more prominent results! That being said, I still believe you look absolutely beautiful right now.

Answer: Bichectomy and Endoscopic Mid-face Lift. Thank you for your question and photos.Your photos reveal that you will have benefit from a bichat fat removal operation. An endoscopic mid-face lift (that will be done from small incisions in hairline) will also help to lift your middle and upper face up to give a slimmer appearance instead of a rounder face.

Answer: Buccal fat removal This is a good option for many patients with mid to lower face fullness, but the decision would require a discussion of your goal results as well as confirmation during an in-person examination.
