I am very much interested in getting a chin implant. I wanted to know what terino style 1 square chin, extended anatomical and flowers mandibular glove implant look like in an "after" photo.

Answer: No way to help you with that. XL's are common in men. I'm usually utilizing Mittelman style implants myself. You'll just have to google image search that one my friend. Also, remember that implants aren't just picked for their individual size and shape but for how they fit on the person seeking them. You should seek more consultations with double-board certified facial plastic surgeons in your are who perform chin implants regularly. Evan Ransom, MD and David Lieberman, MD and Sachin Parikh, MD are in your area . . .or myself down in San Jose.Chase Lay MD

Answer: Are large and XL sized chin implants commonly used in men, and are there any resource to see results of specific implants? Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years. Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation. The attached video will show how the chin is evaluated and the degree of required augmentation decided. I have used the EAC silastic chin implant form many years for it's reliable ability to create a natural appearance. XL is an extremely large implant, I rarely use size L and most men require a size Medium. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin". Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face. Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck. Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty (requires extensive tissue dissection, bone cuts and placement of metal screws and plates to secure the cut segments of bone). I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. Hope this helps.
