I am very much interested in getting a chin implant. I wanted to know what terino style 1 square chin, extended anatomical and flowers mandibular glove implant look like in an "after" photo.
Answer: Chin Implant Nothing is common when it comes to your own surgery. Terino vs. MediPlant? Size 1 vs. 2? The web is not an answer to your questions. The important factor is your communication with your surgeon. To help with communication, I provide my patients with computer "morphing" where my patients can see potential outcomes. I also suggest that patients bring in pictures of what they find are desirable in terms of chin profile at the time of their initial consult. Hope this helps.

Answer: Silicone chin implants This is a good question because the size difference between a large implant and an extra large implant sounds significant but it is inconsequential. There are millimeter differences in the sizes of the implants and it takes 5mm to make a cosmetic difference! I usually start with a large implant for a male but often place an extra large implant. The Terino square implant is a good choice for a masculine appearance. Find an experienced surgeon and trust in his judgement.

Answer: Are large and XL sized Chin implants commonly used in men? In our practice, we use mostly small chin implants for women and mostly size medium for men, but it really depends upon the amount of chin recession present. It's very rare to use a large or extra-large implant, so there must be significant weak and recessive chin present in order to use those type of implants. The size of the implant is much more important than the style. We use Mittleman chin implants, which is demonstrated on our before-and-after chin implant photo gallery below. Chin implants are placed through a small incision underneath the chin with local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. Solid silicone implants can be custom carved when necessary to manage patients unique anatomy. In our practice we have used Implantech brand of solid silicone chin implants with an excellent success rate for over 26 years. Implantech is a resource that has many before and after results of chin implants, along with diagrams of the implants themselves.

Answer: No way to help you with that. XL's are common in men. I'm usually utilizing Mittelman style implants myself. You'll just have to google image search that one my friend. Also, remember that implants aren't just picked for their individual size and shape but for how they fit on the person seeking them. You should seek more consultations with double-board certified facial plastic surgeons in your are who perform chin implants regularly. Evan Ransom, MD and David Lieberman, MD and Sachin Parikh, MD are in your area . . .or myself down in San Jose.Chase Lay MD

Answer: Are large and XL sized chin implants commonly used in men, and are there any resource to see results of specific implants? Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years. Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation. The attached video will show how the chin is evaluated and the degree of required augmentation decided. I have used the EAC silastic chin implant form many years for it's reliable ability to create a natural appearance. XL is an extremely large implant, I rarely use size L and most men require a size Medium. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin". Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face. Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck. Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty (requires extensive tissue dissection, bone cuts and placement of metal screws and plates to secure the cut segments of bone). I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. Hope this helps.
