It looks like you had a Cupid's Bow or vermillion border type lip lift. Incisions in this area sometimes take a long time to remodel (soften), and in some cases, there is a palpable thickness or color difference even afterward. From the photo, I don't see a keloid (this type of scar generally grows outside the boundaries of the original incision). After a few months, it may be possible to use a light laser treatment to improve this area. In my practice, this is why I use a "bull horn" or "gull wing" approach, which places the incision under the nose in a natural crease.
Based on the picture posted you had a vermilion border lift, not a gull lip lift. Gull Lift of the lip puts the scar at the base of the nose, Vermilion lift is an old method. Scars usually are thick at the beginning, they MAY improve with time. There is nothing you can do now other than time, surely no steroid injections in that area.
The sub nasal lip lift will shorten the distance between the nose and the upper lip and produce rotation, which will give you the appearance of a larger upper lip. This technique is very effective with minimal down time and minimal cost. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
