Do I have low density 6 months after FUE? (Photo)

It may take six to twelve months after a hair transplant surgery to see the full result.  If you are concerned it is best to contact your doctor.

First, you really can't evaluate the results of a hair transplant until its been 1 year post-op. Even though you're having good growth in other areas, its possible the hairs on temples are growing at a different rate. Second, without seeing before and after pictures as well as knowing how many grafts were transplanted and in what area, we can't evaluate your results. Density and growth post-op is relative to what the hair looked like prior. Regarding what to expect from hair transplant surgery, that really depends on the plan of action you came up with with your doctor. If you planned to have 3,000 grafts extracted and placed in temples and hair line, and you weren't completely bald in those areas prior, then we would expect to see a nice, full temple and hairline region. Now, if the surgery was compromised in some way, and the grafts in the temples didn't survive, this could result in a poor outcome. Unfortunately, you won't be able to determine this until around the 1 year mark when all hairs should be grown in. 

If the area of the FUE is not as thick as you would like, more transplantation will be necessary.
If the area of FUE has hair that is fine and too short (micronized hair) then nutritional supplements with Biotin and a series of PRP injections could do the trick.
Platelet rich plasma pulls growth factors to region of the prior hair transplantation that can enhance the growth of the hair in that region.

Thank you for the message and post. To really be able to answer that question, a Before photo would be helpful. At 6 months, you are roughly around 50% growth. Will take another 8 months or so to achieve full growth. Hope this helps. 

At 6 months you will be at only about 50% growth, at 12 months you will be at roughly 90% growth. Remain patient and continue to follow your doctors post op care instructions.

Six months is too early to draw any conclusions on your final results.  You will need to wait a good 8-12 months to accurately assess growth; at that time you should follow up with your surgeon, review your photos and decide if you need more grafting done.. 

Thank you for your question and posting your photos. The 6 month point is still too early to evaluate the success of your FUE hair transplant. Patients often require a second procedure to achieve the density they desire simply because the follicles cannot be packed in too tightly or they will pop out. I usually have my patients wait 10-12 months before deciding whether they need a second procedure. Keep in mind that before you began loosing your hair, the density was about 2000 follicle/inch and that once hair loss is evident you have lost at least 50% of the follicles in the thinning area. Hair transplants generally create a camouflage effect as opposed to restoring your original density. I always tell patients that their recourse is to speak with their surgeon if they are every disappointed in their hair transplant results. Good surgeons care about patient results and their satisfaction and it is their surgeons that set the expectations that are needed. The discussion with your surgeon is not and should not be confrontational. It should be a cordial meeting where you can discuss what you are seeing on your head and what expectations you had going into the surgery. Sometime, the results fall short and if is the case, try to find out why that happened and if you both communicated properly on the expectation issue. Maybe your expectations were off
