Good morning! The Brazilian butt lifts performed at our office in Foster City California typically include a number of areas to shape the body. As a result, I have mandated an overnight stay either with a nurse or at the local hospital to administer fluids post-operatively. That being said, liposuction of the arms is often included in the body shaping. The recovery can be at the same time as that for the rest of the body. As for the most sensitive regions for discomfort, my observation includes the arms and inner thighs as being the post painful. A well thought out plan to assist with post-operative pain should be discussed with your physician prior to surgery. I hope this helps!!
Normally, this would be a good time to perform upper arm liposuction, but a physical exam and consultation would be necessary to determine this as well as your expectations after surgery. If you are healthy, you can have these procedures done well with the right surgeon and the right postoperative strategy. In general, after performing hundreds of Brazilian buttlifts, the average pain or discomfort period lasts from 3 to 7 days. This largely depends upon the amount of fat injected into each buttock. According to my patients, the few days of discomfort are well worth it. With the lipo of the arms, there may be some bruising that will last for a week or so. It is generally well tolerated with only a few days that will require some pain medication. Find a board certified plastic surgeon who has performed thousands of these two procedures and has hundreds of pictures and reviews. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Thank you for your question. When planning a Brazilian butt lift, patients can look forward to a double benefit: reducing areas of unwanted fat while gaining a perkier, rounded posterior. Each procedure must be planned according to the individual needs of patients, harvesting fat from target areas of the torso, thighs, arms or knees and transferring it to create smooth, attractive contours optimized for each person. After liposuction and BBL there is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery. Patients can return to light activities almost immediately after surgery, normal activities 2 weeks after surgery, and vigorous exercise 4 weeks after surgery. We usually experience a slow steady improvement for 3 months or so after surgery.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. The recovery time it's the same for both. Usually arms get better sooner than the BBL.Make sure you look for a board certified plastic surgeon for a good evaluation and to talk about your goals.Good luck :)
Having liposuction at the same time you are having a Brazilian butt lift should not increase your recovery time, nor should it make the recovery more difficult or painful. Check with your surgeon for specific recommendations on what you can and can not do in the days following your procedure. Best wishes, Dr. Lepore.
Hello, thanks for your question, bbl recovery is not very comfortable because sometimes you can feel pressure and burning, but it last about 2 weeks from the procedure, liposuction on arms is almost the same but it is not too painful. As you will have liposuction, bbl and lipo on arms, you should avoid activities for a month aprox.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provide information as well. I personally recommend to sleep face up, semi flex and with a boppy pillow. But remember all doctors have their own instructions.Make sure you look for a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and cocnerns.G...
Hello, thanks for your question, yes, at least you can lose a 40% of the fat that is injected, that can happen for the first 2 months from the procedure, that's why is good for the patient to not sit very much, and also to sleep or sit on a boopy pillow for at least 6 weeks.
This will depend upon your goals and your starting point. Fat can be taken from many different areas. In my opinion, you would want as much removed as possible up to 5 liters and as much transferred as possible. I have put up to 2000 cc or more of PURE FAT per buttock in some patients, and I r...
