Temporal implants - how can they be made less visible? (Photos)

Question

My facelift included temporal implants. Unfortunately, my skin is quite thin and the top ridge of both implants is highly visible. Is it possible to add a little filler near the top of the implant to smooth it? What options do I have for correcting the problem?

The use temporal implants is not common. Hollowness in this area is often addressed with fat transfer. The photos are not clear but, if you are concerned with an “edge” that is visible this may be able to be reduced by “shaving” the implant depending on what type of implant was used.
I would consider removing the implant completely, revising the scar and doing fat grafting to the area if you have enough fat to donate.

There are several options available. The current implants can be removed and trimmed so that the transition is less noticeable. A different style implant can be placed. A custom implant can be designed and used to replace the current implants. In any case, the procedure would take less than an hour and can be performed in the office with sedation anesthesia.

I think you have options based on how aggressive you would like to address these issues. One option would be to try and shave down the prominence of the implant as it looks like the edge is sitting a bit proud on the image. Another option would be to remove and replace with a smaller implant. I would be extremely cautious about trying to camoflauge with filler unless done very judiciously as this could potentially make it appear more prominent if done incorrectly.
I think your best option would be to discuss with your initial surgeon and get their thoughts on next steps.
