I have an event a few days after my clear and brilliant laser appointment. Can I fake tan after the treatment? Or how long am I supposed to wait? If I tanned 48 hours post the laser would there be any damage done besides possible irritation?
Answer: Clear + Brilliant + Self tanner Hello Cheerful212761, Thank you for your question! The general recommendation is that you should wait at least 5–7 days after Clear + Brilliant before using self-tanner. Applying it just 48 hours after can lead to irritation, patchiness, and possibly interfere with healing. It likely won’t cause lasting damage, but your skin’s still sensitive, so it’s best to wait to avoid uneven results. If you're in a rush, use a gentle, fragrance-free gradual tanner and patch test first. I hope this helped! Answer: Self-tan after Clear & Brilliant Hello and thank you for your question! In our practice, we typically advise patients to avoid makeup or cream cosmetic products for at least 24-48 hours following medspa treatments such as Clear & Brilliant. It is also recommended to use only gentle skincare such as a facial cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen for one week following treatment, or until your skin texture returns to normal. Using sunless tanner would likely not sit on the skin evenly since the treated skin develops a sandy texture. It would be best to wait until your skin texture returns to baseline which is usually about 7 days later. Hope this helps! Answer: Self Tan after laser Treatment Clear + Brilliant is a non-invasive laser treatment that helps improve skin texture, tone, and appearance. After undergoing this treatment, your skin will be more sensitive and may require some time to heal properly. Here are a few considerations regarding self-tanning after a Clear + Brilliant treatment: 1. **Healing Time**: Typically, it is recommended to wait at least 5-7 days after a Clear + Brilliant treatment before applying any self-tanning products. This allows your skin to heal and reduces the risk of irritation or adverse reactions. 2. **Skin Sensitivity**: Immediately after the treatment, your skin may be red, sensitive, and slightly swollen. Applying self-tanner too soon can exacerbate these symptoms and potentially cause further irritation or an uneven tan. 3. **Product Ingredients**: Self-tanning products contain various chemicals that might irritate the freshly treated skin. It's essential to ensure your skin has adequately recovered to avoid any negative reactions. 4. **Consult Your Provider**: Always consult with your dermatologist or the practitioner who performed the Clear + Brilliant treatment. They can provide personalized advice based on the specifics of your skin and the treatment you received. If you apply self-tanner 48 hours post-treatment, you might experience: - **Irritation**: Your skin could become irritated due to its heightened sensitivity. - **Uneven Tan**: The self-tanner may not apply evenly on skin that is still healing, leading to patchy results. - **Increased Risk of Complications**: There could be a higher risk of infection or other complications if the skin barrier is not fully restored. To ensure the best results for both your skin health and your appearance at the event, it's advisable to wait the full recommended period or follow the guidance of your healthcare provider.
