I notice that sometimes people who get anchor lifts end up with a less rounded under breast and the breast also appear wider/extending further out on the sides. It almost looks like the breasts are sitting on a shelf. How can this be avoided and why does it happen?
Answer: Lift The actual base of the breast is not changed, but the breast is lifted. The wideness may have been present but hidden by sagging breasts. Liposuction can also be added to remove excess fat of the sides of the breasts.

Answer: Different type of lifts should produce similar results? Selection of the type of breast lift will depend of, mostly, two factors; presented breast shape/size and surgeons preference. An experienced board certified plastic surgeon should be familiar with different techniques of breast lift. Properly selected and well executed breast lift, regardless of the technique, should create nicely shaped, balanced breasts. Good luck.

Answer: Do anchor breast lifts make the breasts appear wider? Hello @Improving777, thank you for your question. The type of scar depends on the surgical technique of the specialist performing the surgery. I always perform the L-shaped scar to ensure that the patient has a scar-free cleavage. I have been performing the technique for 21 years and it is a technique that works perfectly in breast lift, breast reduction and reconstruction. Keep in mind that the shape is determined by the surgical technique we use, and the scar is directly affected by the care provided for the patient. For more information and recommendations, it is prudent to consult with one or several board certified plastic surgeons. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.

Answer: Bellesoma Method The anchor lift can make the breasts look wider because the horizontal component closure creates fullness laterally. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast lift Dear Improving777, my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity.
