I got rhinoplasty 35 days ago and notices that my tip is really swollen. Is this supra tip fullness or is this swelling and will go away within time? I have thick skin also and the doctor mostly worked on my tip because it was big.
Answer: Rhinoplasty and swelling Dear jackiekoi,If you press down on that area and it feels firm, then it might be residual cartilageIf it is doughy or squishy, then there is swelling that will come downIt usually takes 6 months for all of the swelling to come down and the tip is the slowest to resolveBest,Dr. Nima

Answer: Is this supra tip fullness or swelling? Dear jackieThe supratip swelling will take time to settle. Probably the longest time any part of nose takes for swelling to settle. It will take 6 months to one year before your tip takes final shape. If at 3 months you can feel cartilaginous firmness, then worth discussing with your surgeon. It takes time!!!

Answer: Rhinoplasty and Supratip Swelling Dear Jackie There still is significant swelling at 35 days after rhinoplasty. Inflammation acts differently at every zone of your nose and that is why normally we could see some asymmetrical zones, and also swelling is an issue in rhinoplasty, because till 1 year the nose still shrinks. Don’t worry, tip nose is made of cartilage and subcutaneous areas and that is why it takes more time to shrinks than the dorsum at the bony area. I would recommend talking to your doctor and letting him evaluate your supratip and explain the type of surgery he did and how is the recovery going. This will make you understand the process of healing of your nose. Best Regards, Dr. Nabil Fakih

Answer: Supra Tip Deformity Post Rhinoplasty? I do appreciate your supra-tip fullness. This could still be swelling. I have used taping and steroid injections to help reduce such fullness. If, however, the fullness is related to the underlying cartilaginous structures, then unfortunately it is unlikely to improve with time. Return to your surgeon for follow-up, and give it more time. All the Best,Dr. Brian Reagan

Answer: Nasal tip swelling You are very early in the healing process. The tip area of the nose takes a long time to go down, so it is very difficult to say where you will end up in the end. The dorsal swelling goes down first, and this can make the tip look relatively more swollen at this time period. Give it some more time and things will even out. Keep the lines of communication open with your surgeonBest of luck
