How long should I wait for steroid injection for scar tissue after Chin Revision?

Question

chin revision from a medpor to a smaller sillicon. Semi soft lumps not going anywhere both sides of jawline after 4months. Went to couple doctors local and they all told me it's scar tissue. One saw my incision under the chin is pretty thick too and told me thats Y I also have internal scar lumps due to thick skin. Some says at least wait till 6months to do steroid while some says l can do it now. When should I do it? Any chance scar tissue wont respond to steroid?is surgical removal possible?

In general, if steroids are indicated to help with scar formation, it is best to have the injection as soon as possible.  This can even be done at the time of surgery in some cases.  Without examining you, I cannot determine if you might be a good candidate for steroid injection into your chin scar.  I would discuss the options with your surgeon.

Dear akila12, If you are a candidate for steroid injection then I would assume your surgeon would do this at this time since you are four months post surgery. If you are not a candidate at this time then it will be determined by your surgeon when and if you will be. So I guess the simple answer is this is up to your treating physician.
