Answer: Chin implant healing/movement Duong,Depending on how recent your surgery was and how strongly it was hit, there is a slight chance that there may have been a shift in the chin implant. This would most likely have to occur 1-2 weeks after your surgery for the movement to have happened. The implant is strong and nearly secure 1 month post op. If you still have the concern that your implant has moved, I recommend seeing your surgeon for a check up.Best of Luck!Dr. Ali Sajjadian

Answer: Healing Time of a Chin Implant Chin implants are typically a quick and minimally invasive procedure that has a short recovery process. For 1 week, patients have sutures in place and some minor bruising and swelling. The implant is placed in a small pocket. It will be secure in about 4 weeks as the body heals around the implant. It will not shift after this time.

Answer: How long does it take a Chin Implant to heal? Chin implants should be placed in a very tight pocket along the jaw. As a result it should be hard to shift an anatomic implant at any time. However, if you have a severe enough trauma you can shift any implant at any point in the healing phase or beyond. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon

Answer: How long does it take a chin implant to heal? I would say the immediate healing period for a chin implant is about a week. There is some swelling still present at this time though and it would take several months for that to subside. In regards to hitting the implant afterwards, an implant could potentially be shifted at any time if enough force is used. In most cases, there is a capsule that forms around the implant after a few days and this does tend to hold it in place. If the implant is mildly bumped or hit, it should not move after this time. If the implant is hit very hard, it could move anytime after it is placed.
