As long as your body water and serum electrolytes are within normal range, general anesthesia and breast augmentation pose no increased risk of complications because of Aldactone (spironolactone). In addition to treating acne, the drug is a potassium sparing diuretic, and may cause dehydration and electrolyte imbalance under some circumstances. Fluid and electrolyte replacement should be more attentive for patients using Aldactone. Perhaps your surgeon or anesthesiologist will want to check some laboratory test results (your electrolyte panel and/or chemistry panel) before breast augmentation surgery.
Spironolactone. This has not been a problem for the surgery and anesthesia part of the procedure. It rarely increases the risks of pigmentation as you continue to heal months and years later. Discuss with your plastic surgeon.
