If your main concern is pigmentation and sun damage then BBL would be best treatment for correction. Expect your pigmentation spots to turn to a darker shade and micro crusting may occur in the following days after treatment. If you have concerns with uneven texture, pigmentation, fine lines and pore size Halo is a fantastic approach that is able to penetrate heat into the dermis that helps stimulate collagen and vaporize tissue on the superficial layer to create a more even and softer complexion.
If your main goal is to treat vessels and pigmentation then BBL may be a good treatment for you to start with. You will have very little downtime and can wear makeup the same day. HALO laser is wonderful to treat, fine lines, enlarged pores, redness, pigmentation and improve tone and texture. It is a very tunable procedure that is customized for each skin type. You will experience several days of downtime with some swelling and crusting with what is called MENDS (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris.) You will get the best treatment when both BBL and HALO are performed together. The best anti-aging duo!Hope you find this helpful
BBL has multiple wavelength settings to treat patients with acne, pigmentation, vascular lesions, deeper lesions, & hair removal. The Halo Fractional Laser is similarly tunable by wavelength & effectively treats pigmentation. However, the Halo also treats skin tone & texture - tightening the skin & smoothing fine lines. We recommend a consultation with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to determine which modality is best for you!
If age spots are your primary concern, then Forever Young BBL will be the best option for you. However, if you have other issues you want to address, such as fine lines, skin texture or pore size, a combination of Forever Young and Halo might be the most effective option. I would recommend making an appointment with a plastic surgeon and discussing your concerns with them. They will assess your skin and give you the best options for your unique skin treatment.
BBL(BroadBand Light) is a great treatment for superficial browns and reds. If this is your first time with any aesthetic treament, BBL is a great starter. Expect your age spots to turn darker and the recovery is just waiting for those spots to flake off. The downtime is minimal, you can wear make up that same day, and you don't really need to change your skincare routine. Halo has a longer recovery than BBL. It's a better treatment when you are trying to shrink your pores, soften fine lines, and lighten hyperpigmentations.
Thanks for the great question. If your only concern is brown spots, then BBL is better at removing those. I find however, that most patients have other skin issue which may also be treated with Halo. Halo is perfect for improving skin tone, texture, and some fine lines. My best results are in those patients who I treat with BBL then Halo in the same setting. I find that these two treatments have a synergistic effect on the skin and are able to make a drastic improvement, especially in those areas with sun damage. Best of luck!~Dr. Sieber
It depends on what else is going on with your skin and your age. If you are in your 20s, are not dark skinned, and have healthy skin with a few spots, I would say BBL is a perfect choice for you. It gives noticeable results in about a week and there is no real downtime. If you have dark skin such as African American, Indian, etc, BBL can still be used to improve the appearance and health of your skin, but with much more caution. In this case, a provider with much experience treating darker skin types should be sought out. Halo can be used safely in all skin types when performed by an experienced practitioner. If you have other issues with your skin such as rosacea, visible blood vessels, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, pores, or some skin laxity, then a Halo-Pro/BBL combo would be excellent. You get all the benefits of both treatments with a synergistic effect and less than a week of downtime. This combo procedure has been a real hit with our patients giving them excellent results with minimal downtime and minimal discomfort.
Thank you for your question. It is impossible to make exact recommendations without examining you personally or reviewing your photos. Generally speaking, BBL (broad band light) uses high-intensity pulses of light to treat red and brown pigment in the skin. Halo, on the other hand, uses two different laser wavelengths to stimulate collagen and improve skin texture. If your primary concern is age spots, BBL would likely be the better treatment. That said, in our clinic we often do combination treatments with both BBL and Halo on the same day, to simultaneously treat dark spots/discoloration and improve skin texture. I would recommend scheduling a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon to discuss your options and to come up with the best treatment plan for you. Best of luck!
