No Feeling During BBL and No Red and Frackle Didn't Turn Darker

It is difficult to answer your question because sensation varies greatly from person to person. It also depends if you had numbing cream applied prior to your treatment.  Most of my patients feel some sort sensation, whether it's heat or burning or rubber bands snapping. On average, the discomfort varies on a scale from 3-8. I do not use any topical numbing as it masks the discomfort level and increases th potential for burning your skin. Asian Skin is considered skin type 4, therefore there is great caution taken when performing the treatment.  I suggest you follow up with your provider and sure hope you had the treatments done in a physicians office. This is difficult to answer. Sensations, healing and results can be variable to the individual. Sun protection is essential after your procedure. Thank you for your question elv11. IPL photofacial treatments can address concerns such as pigment and
redness. Some patients are more comfortable than others as everyone has a different tolerance for pain. We use numbing cream so many of our patients do not feel much during a treatment. Additionally more conservative settings are typically used for darker skin types, making it more comfortable. A series of treatments is recommended and results are seen over time via photographs. Patience is important. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations.  Good luck!

Thanks for the question.  What you feel during the procedure is not necessarily indicative of your results, as we are all "wired" differently, and some of us feel more or less pain than others.  Having Asian skin, your setting was likely a lower fluence than someone with lighter skin so as to avoid negative effects of the light on your skin, so you may have felt less during your treatment than some.  I think that a single treatment is too soon to call BBL/IPL "failed" because it typically takes several treatments to see an effect.
