Im so happy with my abd/bam but one thing has been my thigh pain. Im 6 weeks out and it just is getting more painful. The MA has told me they dont do anything for it and to just massage and rub with loofa. I called to ask if I could get a steroid injection or referral. The MA says the PS wont talk to me till my appointment. I cant find any research evidence that irritating the nerve makes it heal faster. I want to run again without pain.

Answer: Lateral femoral nerve injury Great question, sorry you are experiencing this discomfort. So a couple things. Sometimes this type of thing can be from a suture that is caught around the nerve. In those cases, its best to try and explore the area and release any suture if there is concern this is the cause. It could also be from swelling, or from inadvertent injury to the nerve. best thing to do is inject the area with lidocaine. This does two things, it works to diagnose the issue. If the pain improves immediately, then you have your problem. It also can give some pain relief. Honestly, i don't think it is very professional that your surgeon will not see you until your appointment. Maybe there is a communication issue with the staff. I would insist you get in to see them if this is a serious issue for you. Good Luck"The above answer has been given without seeing this patient and cannot be substituted for actual in-person examination and medical advice; it is only opinion.
