Is 10-20 minutes of a CoolSculpting application enough to freeze fat?

It sounds as if you may not have been treated with a real CoolSculpting device or were not treated correctly with a true CoolSculpting device.  The treatment time for CoolSculpting with the older applicators is 1 hour for each applicator.  With the newer applicators, the treatment time is 35 minutes for the smaller applicator and 45 minutes for the larger applicator.  If you were treated with a real CoolSculpting machine and either the newer or the older applicators were used, you still would not have been treated adequately with only a 10-20 minute treatment.  

CoolSculpting, the brand that is FDA cleared has done exhaustive studies and created protocols that are not changed by physicians using the machines. The first few minutes of the device involve suction and massage before the cooling occurs. The provider can't start it midway, nor should they, so that would mean that there's even less than the 10 minutes of freeze time. I doubt one would get a good result.In my NYC practice, board certified physicians evaluate our patients.  I, myself, apply the applicator and start the cycle on the computer screen. CoolSculpting’s patented cryolipolysis procedure takes at least 35 minutes to work, per treated area. If your practitioner is telling you “10 minutes,” you may have received treatment with a knock-off machine or with someone who hasn’t been trained to perform CoolSculpting. Unfortunately, when a product is popular, lots of unscrupulous companies jump in and produce knock-offs that look like the originals, but can’t deliver and may even be harmful. The way to avoid a scenario like that is to go to the CoolSculpting website and find a certified practitioner in your area. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who is an expert using CoolSculpting to treat all areas of the body and who offers what we call DualSculpting — treating you with two machines at once to cut down on treatment time which is — still — at least 35 minutes per area.

Hello,The newest applicators, Cool Advantage, are 35 minutes per cycle. The larger new applicators (Cool Advantage Plus) are 45 minutes. The times are pre-programmed and cannot be altered. If the applicator is taken off prior to the designated time frame, it is not considered a completed nor effective treatment. I recommend discussing with your service provider the exact treatment you received, because it does not sound like you had Coolsculpting. Good luck.

Sounds like you were treated with a knock off imitation device. Cool sculpting treatments take a minimum of 35 minutes with the newer applicators. Unfortunately, you will have to wait and see if you get results. I would recommend you follow up with a certified coolsculpting practice. Best wishes. 

coolsculpting needs 30-45 mins depending on the applicator. you didnt get coolsculpting and if you did, it will not work.  Best, Dr. Emer.

You may want to make sure they really treated you with the CoolSculpting, if they did, you will need to re-treat correctly. Best of luck!

As mentioned in the previous answer, the Coolsculpting cycles are pre-programmed for the machine and applicator used.    They do not vary by the area or by the operators judgment.     10-20 minutes is not right - check with the provider.     You may want to reach out with the manufacturer regarding your experience.

Thank you for your question. CoolSculpting applicator times are a minimum of 35 minutes dependant on the applicator used. It may be best to confirm with your practitioner if it really was CoolSculpting copycat systems.
