Are there any exfoliating/tightening treatments for my enlarged pores, texture and elasticity loss after plasma pen? (Photo)

Hi thank you for your question. There are different types of treatments you can do for exfoliation and tightening of the skin. Hydrafacial is great for dry and textured skin. It will help remove the upper layer of dead skin making it feel smoother. For the delicate eye area try Eye Perk to hydrate and rejuvenate. As far as skin tightening Forma is a great radio frequency device that will lift and sculpt the face. It will take several treatments of forma to retain the tightening affect.

A combination approach will give the most improvement. I recommend lasers, microneedling/PRP, Peels like Cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (EmerageSkin roller with anteage AERIFY MD ampules weekly, I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. There are a number of treatments that you can consider: For enlarged pores and to improve skin texture, probably the best options is Fractional CO2 laser treatment. Microneedling can also help although it is generally not as effective as CO2 laser. CO2 laser might also help a bit with skin tightening, but for best results, you might want to look into Ultherapy for that. Exfoliating treatments such as HydraFacial can always help by bringing out the youthful skin and they are recommended as part of routine skin maintenance, but they might not help as much as the other treatments I mentioned for your specific concerns. Yes, there is something that can be done for the treatment of enlarged pores, texture and elasticity issues. First I would recommend a Hydrafacial series to remove that feeling of "a layer of dry skin" on top of the face so that creams will penetrate deeper and feel better on your skin. It will also help with makeup application as the layer of skin is removed and the skin is more hydrated leaving a much better surface for your skin care routine and make up application. Hydrafacial will help with texture and some elasticity issues. I would recommend a booster with the Hydrafacial, one with hyaluronic acid and retinol in it. Furthermore, I would recommend a new laser called AviClear to help reduce your pore size. This is an off label use! as AviClear is FDA cleared for acne treatment, however, we have seen improvement in acne scaring, reduction in pore size and tightening in the skin with AviClear due to the target tissue. Its really exciting news and results!

Thank you for your question. I would look for a BBL (broad band light) provider in your area. This treatment addresses the following signs of aging-mild laxity, texture, enlarged pores, crepiness and fine lines, pigmentation issues such as brown spots related to sun damage and rosacea, broken capillaries. A published study by Dr. Anne Chang and Dr. Patrick Bitter out of Stanford University showed that BBL treatments can actually change the expression of genes associated with the aging process so that skin not only looks more youthful but also functions like younger skin. This is a low to no down-time treatment. Usually a series of 3-5 to start, continuing these treatments 2-3 times a year to maintain and even further improve results. Dr. Bitter's skin looks better at age 64 than he did at 43 due to these treatments. Since the eye area is a concern, I would specifically ask in consultation with your provider if they use the BBL to improve the skin around the eyes. As a provider, I am very pleased with the results I am seeing with the BBL.
