My nose looks bigger 3 days after nasolabial fold injections

Question

I feel my nose looks more voluminous from the top after nasal fold injections. I am still swollen or did the filler go toward my nose? my dr did inyect on the side of my nose due to my crease. Also, is it ok if I take ibuprofen for the swelling?

Dear ggp20,dermal fillers have significant swelling post injection. I would follow up with you plastic surgeon but typically I tell all my patients to wait a full two weeks.  Generally at 2 weeks they are happy and glad they didn't dissolve.  Dissolving is unpredictable as well.Daniel Barrett, MD

This may be due to swelling, which can last 1-2 weeks. Icing, cold compresses, and ibuprofen can give improvement. If you remain concerned, I recommend following up with your injector. Best, Dr. Emer

it is hard to say without seeing you what the cause of the swelling is. It is always best to contact the office and see the person that injected you immediately if you are concerned.
