2 years post op rhinoplasty swelling still. Would I benefit from an injection? (Photo)

Thank you for your question. Swelling after a Rhinoplasty surgery is normal and expected. It takes approximately 3 to 6 months for swelling to subside and up to 12 months for your nose to completely settle and see the final result. In some cases like yours, swelling stays due to skin thickness. The best thing to do is to revisit your surgeon and ask for a steroid injection. This will be helpful. Good luck.

Cortizone injection after rhinoplasty: Cortizone is frequently used in the post operative period for people with thick skin in the tip area. It is generally not used in the bridge because the skin is thinner there and the Cortizone May further thin the skin allowing the bones to show through. Discuss with your surgeon whether he believes Cortizone would be appropriate for your tip area.

From your history, it appears that you had more swelling than usual following your rhinoplasty.
From your photos, I note an excellent early postoperative result. There is a photo of a later result with a small-moderate residual hump deformity. There is a photo demonstrating a rounded full tip. There is a photo demonstrating much improved tip definition but a broad nasal base.
Although these photos are not dated, it appears that you have a residual hump deformity after rhinoplasty.
After 2 years, the rhinoplasty should be healed. If this represents residual swelling, and if you accept the potential side effects of skin pigmentary change, dermal thinning (atrophy), and hypervascularity in the area of injection, you may benefit from intralesional injection. On the other hand, if there is no improvement from the injection, revisional rhinoplasty may be required. 15% of cosmetic surgeries require a secondary touch up.
