My nose implant is infected and I’m currently 6 months pregnant - advice? (photos)

Hi, I had nose silicone implant 3 years ago and I’m 6 months pregnant now. The skin around my nose is getting thinner and red and the silicone implant is sticking out inside of my nose. It feels weird when I touch my nose tip and I think it’s infected. Is there anything I can do to delay this process until the baby is born? Or can I get my nose implant removed under local anesthesia? I’m really stressed now. Thank you

I'm sorry to hear about your situation as it is a difficult situation with limited options.  I think you have two choices.  The first is to discuss with your OB/Gyn about being on suppressive antibiotics until your pregnancy is finished.  Discuss with your OB/Gyn about which antibiotic would be safest during your pregnancy.  Once your pregnancy is over, you can consider surgery.

The second option is to try to remove the implant under local anesthetics.  Although it is safe to do so, it is not ideal as it may be uncomfortable.  If you had a silicone implant placed, you want to have the capsule removed as well.

As the nasal implant is exposed intranasally, it can be removed under local anesthesia. As you are noting continuing deterioration, I would strongly recommend it.
Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation, examination, and treatment.
