Would a small amount of filler hide my festoons? I never noticed them until i started getting botox around my eyes about 1.5 years ago. I’m 38 and starting to notice some volume loss and sagging of my skin but the festoon is really what throws things off I think.
Answer: Fillers Can Help Restore A More Youthful Face & Improve The Under Eye Regions The photo provided does not show festoon formation, but rather the early development of a malar fat pad, paricularly on your left cheek. In experienced hands, the proper injection of an appropriate HA filler to the mid-cheek region would likely not only restore the much sought after heart-shaped face, but would likely help camouflage the cheek pad and improve the under eye areas, as well. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Compare your options for treating early festoons Thank you for your question. Since you appear to be at the early stages of festoon formation, dermal fillers may provide an adequate lift to add volume to the area while reducing the appearance of fine lines. Similar to the Botox Cosmetic treatment you receive, dermal fillers should be readministered periodically, with results lasting approximately 6-12 months. Should a liquid eyelift not achieve your desired results, you may benefit from a surgical eyelift known as lower blepharoplasty. This procedure smooths the lower lid by removing excess skin and tightening the area between the eye and cheekbone for results that may last 10-20 years. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can assess your needs on a more individual basis.

Answer: Festoons These are a challenging issue. Fillers typically do not work, usually because there are fasciocutaneous attachments that fillers can actually accentuate. Fat grafting can improve it because you have more volume to fill above the festoon and the cannula can help in separate some of the fasciocutaneous ligaments. A lower lid blepharoplasty with a canthopexy can also improve these.

Answer: Festoons Festoons can be hard to treat. If filler is placed incorrectly it can make the festoons look worse. Some patients find improvement with Morpheus8 treatments. This helps to remodel underlying tissues, improving overall skin tone and texture.
