May 13, 2013 I had plastic surgery. Included was upper and lower eye, mid face lift and neck lift. As you can see in the after photo, I look worse in the mid face and no improvement in the neck. I saw the doctor twice after surgery and he thinks he did fine. He blames my thin face. I paid $13,500 which is a lot of money for me. Shouldn't the doctor admit he failed and give me a partial refund? I feel very depressed as I was expecting a lot better results.
Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: What can I do? I look worse after a mid face lift and neck lift? Based on your before and after photos you posted, I do see an improvement & don't necessarily believe your surgeon failed. You look younger and your eyes look bright and alert without appearing over done. The numbness is a risk that should've been discussed at your pre-op visit, but should come back over time. With male facelifts, most surgeons are more conservative because most men are looking for a more rested look not to look obviously "worked on". Perhaps consider conservative fat grafting or filler to your face, as they do usually go hand in hand with a facelift procedure. As for the banding on your neck, it appears that skin was removed from your neck but check with your surgeon and see if it included platysmal tightening and go from there to discuss your options. I'm sure your surgeon will work with you because believe it or not, surgeons do want you to be happy but patients do need to understand the limits of surgery and have realistic expectations so you can consider everything from recovery, cost and benefits. ac

Answer: Faeliftc Looking at the two pictures there is hardly any improvement, I see more problems in the after picture. The before lower lids did not need anything but either a pinch blepharoplasty or laser resurfacing. The after picture, the lower lids have bags??Neck and mid face ????You will need a complete analysis of what was the surgery and plan a surgery to improve the results

Answer: Worse I see what your concerns are but you do look much better then before surgery though your neck and lower face would benefit from further surgery. The price you paid for the procedure is also very small compared to what the cost could have been. I would need to see your operative note to see what was actually done before commenting further. Answer: Facial cosmetic surgery in men is very tricky - warning: long answer ahead Hi there. First of all, it is apparent that your before photo is on the right and the after photo is on the left. Correct? I think Dr. Samir Shureih is mistaking your preoperative photo for your postoperative photo based on his comments below.Okay, unless I'm confused, I think you have a terrific result from your eyelid surgery. You look awake, bright and interested as opposed to your hang dog look in the before photo. And...............you don't look overdone. Think Bruce Jenner, Kenny Rogers, Burt Reynolds just to name a few. So be happy with your eyes. The numbness and pulling sensation you are experiencing will get better over time. Okay, the mid face and neck - not so great. Facelifts don't help the midface that much and I think you may be a good candidate for some fat transfer or fillers to your nasolabial folds. Because you are a man, this should be done conservatively. You don't want to be all puffed up like Mickey Rourke. Your neck could use another procedure to decrease your banding. There is a procedure sometimes done in men where the excess skin is removed and the muscle bands treated by a direct incision on the anterior neck. Because men have coarse skin, the scar is usually acceptable and recovery is easier than a re-do full face lift. That being said, I really don't think your mid face or you neck detract that much from your ruggedly, handsome appearance. Remember - the enemy of good is better and the goal of realistic plastic surgery is to make you look as good as possible for your age.As for a refund - that's tricky. You paid for the surgeon's time and effort. I never guarantee a result because the human condition is just too unpredictable. My guess is that your surgeon did not guarantee anything except that he would do his best. And I personally think the improvement you got from your eye surgery was worth $13,500. And unlike any electronic gizmo or car or furniture or fancy vacation, this surgery will last 10 - 15 years.Don't stew over this. Check out some really bad male plastic surgery and you will feel like you dodged a bullet.
