I'm 12weeks out of necklift/lower facelift surgery and I have a roll or band that goes almost ear to ear inder my chin when I tilt my head down. I never had it before surgery. Im worried.
Answer: Neck Lift Recovery I suggest speaking to your physician it takes 6-12 months to see improvement. I often add botox and neck tightening procedures (venus legacy) to speed up the healing process. If there is "banding" steroid injections or a revision may be needed. Best, Dr. Emer.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Concerned With Appearance of Band Under Chin After Neck Lift The #healing process can take from 2-6 months for face, neck and cheeks, and to 9-12 months for the forehead and scalp. Also, some degree of firmness or lumpiness under the skin is normal after surgery and will resolve with time. Local #massage of the areas may accelerate the resolution of this problem, which normally takes 2-4 months to disappear completely.Typically, it's best to wait 6 to 12 months depending on the reason for #revision. As with all #cosmetic surgery, results will be rewarding if expectations are realistic. With any surgical #procedure and #revision, there are some risks of unhappy outcome or other complications which your surgeon should discuss with you during your consultation. Your procedure should always be performed by a #PlasticSurgeon who is board-certified and has a great deal of experience specializing in cosmetic #surgery. You will then greatly improve your chances of getting the result you desire, and, without the need for additional revision surgery. If you have certain concerns about the procedures and #healing process, it is recommended to call your board-certified surgeon or their medical staff and discuss those #concerns.

Answer: Banding When the neck is tightened it does create a band. When you tilt your head down your tissues push downwards on the band that make it more visible. This banding tends to relax over time and the swelling reduce. I would keep in touch with your PS to see if there are any non surgical options he/she can recommend.

Answer: Swelling I see the swelling of your neck under your chin. This type of swelling would not be unusual for the first month. By the third month, the swelling should be decreasing. You should wait until the 6th month before you conclude that something needs to be done. Its best to follow with your original surgeon as he knows exactly what was done during the original surgery.
