Can Facial Fat recover overtime? Can it recover after being melted by Radio Fractional energy?? (photos)

Question

I got a skin tightening at home machine that melted my face. It's been 25 days and I don't see any improvement after using the best corrective and skin nutritional products. There are about 7 different at home machines in the market (internet) today. I used it a couple of times and started to see BAD results the next day. The machine made me look 15 years older in a flash. Can you please let me know if there is any hope my facial fat comes back overtime? Please look at my review for details. TkY !

Unfortunately without knowing exactly what machine you have purchased its impossible to predict what will happen long term. There is no question that you have lost a lot of volume in your face between the two pictures but what happened to it cannot really be ascertained via photos over the internet. Most RF devices that affect fat on the face tend to shrink the cells rather than kill them, so there is hope that things will improve. Unfortunately, its really impossible to know what you have gotten off the internet - even if it claims to be a thermage brand machine its tough to know for sure if it is. I would suggest you stop the treatments immediately and seek a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. To immediately improve the appearance you will probably require a few syringes of a hyaluronic acid filler like Restylane or Juvederm which will last about a year. Once the filler has worn off you should be able to get a sense of whether your fat cells have recovered or if they are not likely to. Luckily, fat grafting to the face is an excellent and reliable option to permanently restore facial volume so if the fat doesnt recover on its own you may want to consider that treatment. Thermage doesn't have the ability to cause facial fat atrophy and I am unsure of what device you would have used at home that would have that capability.  I suggest seeing a cosmetic dermatologist.  you will need volume replacement.  To note, the facial radiofrequency and ultrasound treatments on the market today when used properly DO NOT cause facial fat atrophy even with poor or untrained use.  Best, Dr. Emer.

I have never heard of an "at home" Thermage laser.  I am not certain that there is any device that can melt fat as you are describing.  I would suggest you consult a dermatologist who specializes in atrophy of the skin to determine if there is some systemic cause for this serious medical condition.  Please keep us posted.
