Basically i'm 5'4 and weight 110 lbs and have very light skin. Because of that, you can really see the veins on my thighs and especially on my hips, they look really blue and people often notice them... Is there any kind of treatment to make them less noticeable? I tried tanning but i just burned
Answer: Get a Consultation! It can be hard to tell without a consultation whether or not your veins are healthy. If they aren’t, and you do in fact have venous insufficiency resulting in varicose or spider veins, sclerotherapy and venous ultrasounds can be possible solutions. However, if you just have naturally thin skin and your veins are actually healthy, cosmetic vein treatments are not recommended. Get a consultation with your doctor today to find out what steps you can take (and no more tanning!)

Answer: Venous Insufficiency Evaluation - Vein Treatment Center, Williamsville, NY Thank you for your question. If you have symptoms, then you need a venous Doppler Ultrasound scan, called Venous Duplex scan.If this scan shows venous insufficiency, you may be a candidate for venous ablation using VNUS Closure, EVLT (endovenous laser therapy), ClariVein (mechanochemical ablation) or chemical ablation with Varithena. The varicose veins you describe can also be treated with sclerotherapy.Read my ebooks about venous insufficiency on the link below. They are FREE access ebooks. BestDr. Karamanoukian

Answer: Have a venous duplex Find a center where you can have your veins examined by ultrasound. The procedure is painless and takes less than an hour. This study will determine if you have something called venous reflux. If the veins you see are caused by this, a simple procedure known as EVLA (endovenous laser ablation) can correct the problem in most cases. But the first step to be evaluated. Be well, Dr. M

Answer: Normal Veins These are normal veins and because of your fair skin they do show. I would not recommend treating these veins for cosmetic reasons. However, if you had some on the thighs only, they could be diminished with sclerotherapy injections. Limited treatments only. Tanning is never a good option due to cancer risks and aging effects on the skin. Try a good quality self tanner or spray tanning if you would like to try to camouflage your veins without treatment.

Answer: Blue thigh veins What your are describing are blue or reticular veins. These are best treated by sclerotherapy. However, sometimes, depending on the amount and distribution of the veins, a venous ultrasound may need to be done to look for underlying valvular reflux. See a vein specialist.
