I'm wondering if crying during the initial 7-10 day healing period after upper blepharoplasty (while stitches are still in) would affect it in any way or so any damage?

It would be unusual to separate upper and lower eyelid surgery, unless that is your desire. Having both done concomitantly saves anesthesia, cost and two recovery periods. It is ultimately your decision, but it is not the norm to separate them.
Usually the webbing gets worse. You want to wait about 3 months from your surgery and then consider eyelid web scar surgery. See following link for an example.
