Constant twitch in chin 10 weeks after silicone chin implant. Advise?

I had a silicone chin implant inserted under my chin on March 5th. I started having twitching on my lower left side of my chin a day ago. It twitches every couple of seconds and it’s also visible from the outside. It’s constant and driving me crazy. Prior to all of this I had a pretty smooth recovery. Didn’t experience much numbness at all. Should I be concerned that the twitching is happening now? Unrelated but I have a revision schedule in July, not happy with current shape/size.

Hello, I understand that you had a chin implant placed a few weeks ago and since that time you are experiencing twitching of one or more muscles on the left side of your chin. This will very likely resolve in due time. However, because this is causing you some distress, there is a very good answer to this temporary problem.Having botulinum toxin type A,  such as Botox or xeomin, injected into the muscle(s) of the chin causing the twitch, will very likely solve this issue. It is important to understand which muscle is causing this condition. The muscles around the mouth are responsible for maintaining our lips in the proper position at rest as well as keeping the function of the mouth working properly. However even small amounts of botulinum toxin can be used in the region of concern and should very likely control this spasm without creating a  visual or functional disruption.  I hope this information is helpful and I hope that your condition resolves soon. Best regards Dr. Mitchell

Considering that this problem did not start immediately after surgery this is very likely transient occurrence. If this continue to bother you for longer time injection of Botox into designated muscle(s) will resolve problem until healing is completed. Good luck.
