Does a breast reduction come with a lift?

Techniques to lift the breasts are typically included in a breast reduction. It's essential to lift the breasts at the time of reduction, and it's still considered to be a single procedure in the eyes of your surgeon and your insurance company. I tell my patients, “Don’t worry, I won’t reduce your breasts and leave them low!” Lifting is included in reductions.

If is not really possible to do a breast reduction without including the lift.   It is included in the design of the breast reduction.  The main exception is when a reduction is done by liposuction alone.  Liposuction alone for a breast reduction is not done very often and is generally for smaller reductions.  If is not for a G cup.
I'm glad you are excited about your upcoming reduction.  It is the procedure that seems to give the most satisfaction to our patients.  I hope you will be happy as well. 

Breast reduction and breast lift are essentially the same procedure. The difference is that the breast reduction involves removal of skin and breast tissue thus reducing the size/volume of the breast. The nipple areola is repositioned to a more central location to give a more youthful appearance. In a breast lift( mastopexy), the breast skin is removed with minimal amounts of breast tissue. There is a very small change in breast size however the relationship of the nipple areola to the breast is also improved. For the most part the types of incisions required are similar depending on the individual needs. Discuss this with your surgeon. Best Wishes.

Breast reduction surgery is one of the most patient pleasing operations we perform. By removing “excess” breast tissue, adipose tissue, and breast skin  this operation reduces AND lifts the breasts to a higher position on the chest wall (in other words, the breasts are "automatically" lifted when a breast reduction is performed). By doing so, patients often find improvement in neck, back, and shoulder discomfort and find it easier to form their activities of daily living and exercise. Best wishes.

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. Congratulations on your decision to pursue a breast reduction! Our patients are generally extremely satisfied with the procedure. Yes, a breast lift is part of the reduction procedure. Of course, you will need an in-person consultation to evaluate you for this procedure. Preoperative visualization and surgical simulation with the Crisalix system may help with your decision. Any treatment plan should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.    Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with.
