Will post op breast reduction nipple hypersensitivity resolve or is it permanent?

Best to check with the plastic surgeon who performed your breast reduction;  but in my experience, the sensitivity diminishes with time.  

Dear DiJoGa,changes in sensitivity of breasts and nipples are not that uncommon after breast surgeries. In most cases it resolves with time but sometimes it can take a few months. following your procedure is common and will improve with time.  So treat symptomatically and be patient and it should subside.

Congratulations on your breast reduction and outstanding results. As regards nipple hypersensitivity, this usually resolves in several months for most women though some can even take as long a a year for this to happen. Yes, it can be very annoying but virtually always will resolve in time.Steven Turkeltaub, MD
