I have implants due to BRCA2. Had my final surgery Feb 2022 and everything’s been perfect. I woke up Monday and my boob was red and sore so I got admitted for an infection, but there was no open wound or anything. Put on IV antibiotics for 3 days and sent home 2 days ago and felt almost back to normal. Woke up today and a bunch of liquid coming out which didn’t even happen while at the hospital during my stay. It’s ozzing white/green pus.

Answer: Please call your surgeon Hi Adventurous345816, The signs and symptoms you describe--a reconstructed breast that is red, hot, swollen, and draining pus--are all very concerning for an established infection surrounding the implant. This will likely require surgery. I would suggest calling your surgeon right away (as soon as you read this)--they will likely want to see you and admit you back to the hospital for management. Hope this helps. Best,Christopher Pannucci MDBoard Certified Plastic SurgeonPlastic Surgery NorthwestSpokane, Washington

Answer: Pus drainage Dear Adventurous345816, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.
