Question

I got 2 kind of swollen abscess on my head in transplanted hair area. I got it checked out by my doctor today and he said it was an abscess and he prescribed me antibiotics and said to see a dermatologist next week. I was wondering if this will cause any damage to the transplanted hair if taken care of early. Also just for my knowledge does a abscess form to indicate an infection or is it the middle stages of an infection. Thanks in advance.

Abscess is an infection. It is a collection of pus that in built up under your skin.  You need to have this treated.

This seems to be an abscess and you will want to follow up with your Hair Transplant Physician as soon as possible. This can generally be caused when recipient sites were made too deep as well as the grafts themselves transplanted too deep which can cause  ingrown hairs that can lead to infected cysts and abscess.

These are very unusual and generally require incision and drainage which your surgeon should do for you.
