I had a hair transplant approximately 4,5 months ago, and I'm seriously starting to get worried about my donor area. 3 weeks post operation there was a whole pattern on the back of my head. After 4,5 months the pattern is still somewhat visible after shaving it down. I still have many bald patches on the back of my head, and even many red spots in the lower area. I guess the area is still somewhat irritated. Is there anything I can do to improve the situation?

Answer: Large FUE sessions may leave permanent bald patches or "moth eaten" appearance to the donor area
It is best to address your concerns with your doctor. There are always risks with any surgery. Dr. Kabaker is a well known and great surgeon who specialize in hair line lowering.
Generally a transplant would be pretty close to 100% survival, but it almost never hits the perfect survival mark, and a surgeon definitely couldn't guarantee that it would be 100% either. Even if only 90% survive, that's still a lot of grafts and it'll probably look just fine once you see...
2 months past your transplant there's nothing really to worry about. The only things that can ruin your new hair are the same things that would ruin your natural hair. Leaving something like toppik in your hair overnight shouldn't cause your grafts any permanent damage.
