I was born with scaphocephaly, can it be treated? (Photos)

Hello I was born with scaphocephaly and now I'm 33 years, can scaphocephaly be treated? I get a lot of pressure and and headaches on my forehead, or is it possible that I can get a rounder shape to my head with maybe plastic surgery?

Scaphocephaly is caused by the premature fusion of the sagittal suture of a baby’s skull, causing the development of a headshape which is a bit long and narrow. This is the most common form of isolated craniosynostosis. Scaphocephaly is more commonly seen in boys than in girls. This condition is best treated in infants, when the abnormal suture line can surgically be freed up quite safely, to promote growth of a more ideal headshape
It would be unusual for an adult to undergo cranial vault remodeling (surgical skull reshaping) as the risks of complications would generally outweigh the benefits of this major surgery.
You could seek a consultation with a plastic surgeon who specializes in both adult and pediatric craniofacial surgery for more information and advice.

There is a chance to get some more definitive answers for your problem.  The best way is to actually seek care and counsel from one of the craniofacial specialists in your area.  Dr. Peter Lorenz is the Chief of Cranio-Facial Reconstruction at Stanford University.  If you are interested, I would call his office and see if in fact you can meet with him and get more definitive answers.  I am sure you can get his information online and proceed as you wish.
